Class of 2001 alum Heriberto Acosta Maestre’s achievements couldn’t be more impressive. While at Robinson, he stood out for his wonderful temperament, academic achievements, perseverance and desire to help others. He was a founding and board member of the Student Technology Organization and selected as one of the Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
After attending Robinson, Heriberto acquired his BS in Computer Engineering, and MS in Computer Science at the Universidad Politécnica. At the Politécnica he was a member of the Caribbean Artificial Intelligence Group, and the Treasurer of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, receiving multiple awards and recognition.
Heriberto holds a PhD. in Computer and Information Systems Security from Nova Southeastern University, where he was tasked with the creation of a streaming data engine that would feed to real-time interactive visualization.
Heriberto is currently the DL Program Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) for the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. As part of his many responsibilities, he performs vulnerability and threat assessments, as well as mitigation and reporting activities to safeguard Agency information assets. Heriberto has a very complex job that is crucial to the PR Army National Guard. He has been recognized for his ability to work under pressure in highly demanding tasks.
Additionally, Heriberto holds several engineering licenses and certifications and has extensive experience in working with internal and external teams in remote locations. Despite his busy and complex schedule, Heriberto finds time to do volunteer work and to dedicate time to one of his many interests; photography.
